The Moon and the Earth
The moon orbits the Earth in such a way that there is a hidden side of the moon that never faces Earth. This is an unusual phenomenon that requires the precise timing of the moon’s orbit and the Earth’s rotation. If either of these were even a second off then eventually we would see that other side of the moon, but it is perfectly timed so that it is always hidden.
Lunar Nature
We have a lunar nature psychologically, meaning our consciousness is more attuned to flux, passivity, and gravity. The lunar nature is the sleep of the consciousness. The struggle to awaken the consciousness is to become solar human beings with a psychology that generates light through sacrifice.
The Hidden Side of Ourselves
Everything in nature is a reflection of a psychological and esoteric reality. Therefore this hidden side of the moon represents the parts of our psychology that we never see clearly without strong efforts. We see parts of ourselves at the surface, we have an idea of what kind of person we are. But the dark side is in everyone.
The Mirror
What happens is that instead of seeing what we have within ourselves, we throw it out onto the world. We do not see our own hatred, bigotry, and thirst for power and so we project it out onto others. We do not see our own fear, cowardice, laziness, cynicism, deceit, etc. The world is a reflection of what we carry within our interior. This is not about self-blame or despair. It is an esoteric teaching that we resolve the chaos of the world by resolving it internally within ourselves. The joy and happiness we seek is latent within. The parts of our psychology that we do not see and know and integrate are huge blind spots that cause us to blame others for all of problems instead of taking responsibility.
Verify
This can be verified through meditation and self-observation practice. With consistent practice of relaxing the body and mind, and observation of our internal state, something of our true nature begins to be revealed. Under the light of the conscious awareness the thoughts, feelings, and sensations begin to be observable. The more light we have to shine, the more shadow parts can be observed and understood. Joy, peace, hope, faith, and love are all innate within us, a built-in part of our consciousness. And this is trapped within those egoic patterns that we are not aware of.
